Job Summary:

The Senior Academic Counsellor plays a pivotal role in guiding students through their academic journey. They are responsible for providing expert advice on course selection, career paths, program suitability, and personal development strategies. This role involves mentoring students, managing counselling teams, and contributing to student retention and satisfaction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:1. Student Guidance & Support

  • Provide one-on-one academic counselling to students regarding course planning, program selection, and academic performance.
  • Assist students in identifying their strengths, interests, and career aspirations.
  • Develop individualised academic plans to help students achieve their goals.
  • Address academic concerns, stress, and performance-related challenges.

2. Admissions & Program Advising

  • Support prospective students during the admissions process by evaluating their educational background and career goals.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and program overviews for new students.
  • Advise on course prerequisites, credit transfers, and curriculum requirements.

3. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor and supervise junior academic counsellors and support staff.
  • Collaborate with faculty, admissions, and student affairs teams to ensure cohesive support for students.
  • Participate in developing and improving counselling protocols and student support strategies.

4. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor academic performance metrics and identify students at risk.
  • Prepare regular reports on student progress, retention, and counselling outcomes.
  • Use data to refine academic counselling strategies and interventions.

5. Workshops & Events

  • Organize and facilitate academic workshops, webinars, and career development events.
  • Engage with parents (where applicable) to provide updates on academic progress and support plans.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree .
  • Experience: Minimum 4–6 years in academic counselling or student support.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of academic systems, curriculum frameworks, and educational pathways.
  • Empathetic and student-centrist approach.
  • Ability to manage a team and handle escalated concerns.
  • Familiarity with student information systems (SIS) and CRAM platforms.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,556.23 - ₹19,482.10 per month
