Job Description

Role Overview: As a SEN Teacher, your primary responsibility will be to support students with special educational needs by identifying and assessing their needs, developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with staff and parents to integrate SEN students into mainstream education, manage classroom behavior effectively, monitor student progress, and ensure compliance with SEN policies and educational laws. Additionally, you will advocate for inclusivity, raise awareness about SEN, and promote student independence and confidence in learning. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and assess students with special educational needs. - Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student. - Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. - Provide one-on-one or small group support for students. - Work closely with class teachers to integrate SEN students into mainstream education. - Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff. - Communicate regularly with parents to update them on student progress. - Implement positive behavior management strategies. - Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. - Foster social and emotional development in students. - Conduct assessments to determine students" strengths and areas for improvement. - Track and document student progress based on IEP goals. - Adjust learning strategies based on student progress and feedback. - Stay updated on SEN policies, teaching strategies, and educational laws. - Attend training and workshops on special education techniques. - Ensure compliance with national and school policies on special education. - Promote inclusivity and raise awareness about SEN in the school community. - Advocate for necessary accommodations and resources for SEN students. - Encourage student independence and confidence in learning. Qualification Required: - A Bachelors Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a related field. - A Postgraduate Diploma or Masters Degree in Special Education (optional but preferred). - Accept a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Child Development, combined with SEN training.
