This role is primarily responsible for the application of aviation security preventive measures at airports and from such other aviation related agencies engaged in support activities.

The areas are:

• Access Control to Aircraft/ People & Vehicle- The aircraft security, as per BCAS directions is the accountability of the airline operator.
• Protection and Search of Aircraft- This includes security at all stages- when the aircraft lands, when it is parked and before it takes off
• Patrolling & Guarding of Aircraft
• Screening of passenger registered baggage - While in some Metro stations, this is done by the Airport Operator, the accountability of security lies with the airline operator. This becomes even more important in smaller stations.
• Passenger Baggage Reconciliation/ Identification
• Surveillance of screened baggage- After each baggage is screened, till each of them is loaded on to the aircraft, it is the accountability of the airline operator to ensure it is under surveillance
• Security in the baggage sorting area
• Security of flight documentation
• Protection of Cargo, Mail, and Courier
• Security of transit baggage or unaccompanied bags
• Security of Arms & Ammunition baggage
• Maintain standards as per Company requirements
• Ensure effective threat assessment and response capability
• Achieve department goals and follow up
• Perform duties as per the Security Programme
• Maintain performance standards and follow up with your shift
• Monitor continuously the Quality System and the level of conformance
• Secure quality levels
• Optimize resource
• Aware of Emergency Response Procedures, rules and regulations
• Acquire and maintain necessary skills required to perform job functions
• Maintain work procedures as per company requirements
• Carry out development dialogue with the Team leaders
• Control theft and pilferage of company property

Administrative Responsibilities:

• To maintain files and log sheets
• Give inputs for training requirements
• Updating of manuals and local procedures
• Ensure competent and qualified work force are detailed for duty
• Verify Invoices
• Personnel development and management
• Maintenance of equipment
