We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our team on a contractor basis. This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. Responsibilities
*Document incident response procedures and maintain security protocols.
*Conduct regular security audits and prepare compliance reports.
*Perform daily security monitoring and vulnerability assessments.
Requirements
*Bachelor s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field; Security certification preferred.
*5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
*Experience working with cloud infrastructures
*Strong skills in threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, risk management, incident response, and knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001).
*Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
*Proven experience with incident response, risk assessment, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
*Analytical thinking, strong attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving.
*Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
*Remote working experience
*Minimal travel, primarily for annual team meetings or occasional site assessments.
*Flexible work schedule with a preference for EST time zone
Nice to have
*Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure), familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
*Advanced scripting and AI model knowledge.
