Technical Requirements and Role Clarification

Testing focus
: Data validation and pipeline testing, not API/backend automation
Heavy-weight testing similar to development work
Validating data transformations built by others
More execution-focused than framework building
Tech stack
: Azure Data Factory, Databricks, PySpark/Python coding
Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines
SQL knowledge expected for data engineers
No data generation, lineage tracing, or monitoring required
Experience level
: Relevant 5-7 years individual contributors (Total 6 to 10 years)
Not looking for managers, want hands-on technical people
One person with slight team lead experience preferred for future scaling
Role positioning
: Will be called testers organizationally
Open to training QA processes but cannot teach coding fundamentals
Must understand data engineering concepts and pipeline review
