We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer – Desktop Application (Electron) to take ownership of designing, building, and scaling secure, cross-platform desktop applications. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing reliable desktop clients that integrate seamlessly with backend services, support offline workflows, and interact efficiently with OS-level resources.

Responsibilities

• Own desktop application modules end-to-end, from architecture design to deployment and monitoring
• Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform desktop applications using Electron
• Implement secure local execution and integration with OS-level APIs and system resources
• Build and manage application installers, auto-update mechanisms, and release pipelines
• Ensure reliable offline workflows and graceful synchronization with backend services
• Integrate desktop clients with backend and cloud-based APIs
• Optimize application performance, startup time, and system resource usage
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility across Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and product teams
• Champion clean code practices, testing standards, and maintainable architecture
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical and architectural decisions

Skills Required

• 5–9 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on desktop application development
• Hands-on experience building production-grade desktop applications using Electron
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js
• Solid understanding of desktop application architecture and lifecycle management
• Experience with OS-level integrations, system behaviors, and native APIs
• Hands-on experience with application installers, auto-updaters, and packaging tools
• Knowledge of secure credential storage and local data security best practices
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills
• Experience integrating desktop applications with backend services and APIs
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
