SCRUM Master

The Scrum Master is responsible for leading and guiding an Agile Scrum team to deliver high-quality, working software. This role involves facilitating Scrum ceremonies, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles, helping the team continuously improve, and acting as a bridge between the team and stakeholders

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate Scrum Events:

• Facilitate key Scrum events (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospectives) ensuring they are productive, engaging, and time-boxed.
• Ensure that meetings are focused and that the team adheres to the time and structure required for each event.

2. Coaching & Mentoring:

• Coach the team on Agile and Scrum practices, ensuring that all members understand their roles and the value of Scrum.
• Support team members in becoming self-organizing, encouraging ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
• Mentor and assist team members in adopting and adhering to Agile principles.

3. Remove Impediments:

• Identify and remove obstacles that prevent the Scrum team from achieving their goals.
• Work with other teams and stakeholders to resolve blockers that impact team performance.
• Collaborate with management to escalate and address systemic issues affecting the team's progress.

4. Collaboration & Communication:

• Serve as the communication liaison between the development team, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Help ensure transparency by facilitating clear and open communication between the team and external parties.
• Protect the team from external distractions, ensuring they can focus on delivering value.

5. Facilitate Continuous Improvement:

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to reflect on their processes and outcomes.
• Help the team identify opportunities to improve their efficiency, quality, and collaboration during retrospectives.
• Track and report on team performance metrics, helping identify areas for improvement.

6. Support Product Owner:

• Assist the Product Owner in maintaining a well-groomed backlog and ensure that it is prioritized according to business value.
• Support the Product Owner in communicating product goals and requirements to the team.
• Help the Product Owner manage scope and priorities during the sprint.

7. Promote Agile Practices Across the Organization:

• Advocate for the use of Agile practices beyond the Scrum team to the broader organization.
• Participate in Agile community events, workshops, or initiatives to promote knowledge sharing.

Preferred candidate profile

• Certifications:

  Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).

• Experience:

• Minimum of 0-4 years of experience as a Scrum Master role.
• Proven track record of facilitating successful Scrum teams and Agile processes.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams (developers, testers, product owners, etc.,).
