We are now seeking a highly motivated and results driven individual to join Scent Technology & Innovation (ST&I) team as Scientist. Your Focus

As Scientist (Consumer Product Analyst), you will carry out analytical experiments both on known and unknown fragrance compositions. You will partner with key technical and creative partners (perfumers, evaluators) to deliver insight into fragrance compositions and how they are delivered. In addition, you will help develop foundational data as input for analytical tools and databases.

The role is Mumbai, India based and will report to Technical Manager.

How you will contribute

Translate requests of technical management into sensible experiments.
Reconstruct unknown fragrances based on analytical, olfaction and supplementary data.
Carry out analyses on known fragrances in and delivered by consumer products.
Co-develop analytical methods for known fragrance and write protocols.
Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Organize lab supplies.
Support the generation foundational data for analytical and fragrance reconstruction tools and databases.

What you will need to be successful

Bachelor s or Master s degree in in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or any other relevant discipline.
Minimum 2 years of experience in GC/MS analysis.
Experience working in fragrance/flavor or fast-moving consumer goods industry or forensic science is preferred.
Skilled in either equipment maintenance/troubleshooting or data handling, with a proactive attitude and readiness to learn the other skill.
Perfume ingredient knowledge (and of their chemical behavior) is preferred.
Good planning skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proactive and can anticipate issues and generate practical solutions.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work effectively under time constraints.
Result driven and customer oriented.
Strong analytical thinking, with proven ability in data analysis and interpretation.
Quick learner with a strong aptitude for acquiring new skills and knowledge.
