As a Process Development Chemist in the R&D department, your role involves developing, optimizing, and executing processes for APIs to ensure timely implementation within budget. Your key responsibilities include: - Developing API processes in the lab through literature surveys and API intermediate characterization to ensure quality and timely implementation - Conducting literature surveys and route selection for assigned projects - Preparing and executing development strategies for assigned projects - Maintaining records of experiments and results, optimizing process parameters, and supporting the creation of new IP assets - Calibrating instruments in the lab, following safety procedures, and adopting green chemistry approaches - Preparing development reports and tech transfer documents for successful technology transfer to the plant - Coordinating with manufacturing units for pilot, pre-validation, and validation batches - Conducting QbD studies, impurity identification/synthesis/characterization, and ensuring regulatory compliance - Supporting procurement in vendor qualification for key raw materials - Ensuring compliance with checklist for stage gate and milestone meetings to complete projects on time - Overcoming challenges such as delays in analytical results, incorrect raw materials, and changing product development requirements Your key interactions will be with Manufacturing, SCM, ADL, QA, QC, IP, ROC, Safety, and Engineering teams. You will be responsible for process development for 4 projects and executing processes on the plant for 1 project annually. Your key decisions will involve selecting specific reagents, solvents, reaction conditions, routes for development, and vendors for raw materials and equipment. Qualifications required for this role include an M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry and 3-5 years of experience in process R&D.,
