We are looking for a Process Development Intern to support our chemical engineering team in designing and optimizing novel catalytic and electrochemical processes. This internship is ideal for candidates who are passionate about sustainable technologies and eager to gain hands-on experience in process simulation, flow design, and system-level analysis for innovative applications in green chemistry and bio-energy. Day-to-day Responsibilities Include: - Assisting in simulating chemical and electrochemical processes using Aspen Plus or related software. - Supporting basic techno-economic analysis under the guidance of senior engineers. - Helping prepare process flow diagrams, material balances, and design documentation. - Contributing to literature reviews and patent analysis for process innovation. - Participating in interdisciplinary discussions with biochemists, electrochemists, and instrumentation teams. - Maintaining clear documentation of project data, insights, and process designs. You will be part of a greenfield project located in GIDC Vapi, covering an area of 10,556 sq m dedicated to the manufacturing of Pharma Intermediates and APIs. The project is designed to include a main intermediate production building, a GMP facility, and infrastructure for Catalytic Hydrogenation, emphasizing sustainable practices and competitive innovation. Your responsibilities will involve the preparation and upkeep of Engineering/Project documentation, Qualification & Validation documents throughout the various stages of the greenfield project until commercial manufacturing. It is essential to ensure the implementation and adherence to industry/cGMP best practices. This includes creating Qualification documents such as URS, DQ, IQ, OQ & PQ for production and utility equipment, as well as overseeing Engineering documents encompassing certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, and other crucial QA/QC documents. You will be accountable for tasks like conducting factory acceptance tests at vendor sites, qualifying new equipment, and periodically re-qualifying equipment and facilities like PW plant HVAC. Additionally, you will be involved in the Preparation & Review of SOPs for the Engineering department, Training and Approval of Qualification SOPs, preparing Facility qualification documents, and developing Project-specific qualification plans for significant changes. Your role will also entail the creation of various documents such as Installation and operational qualification protocols and reports, Performance Qualification Protocols and reports, and conducting training sessions for new hires and Executives on Qualification Activities. To qualify for this role, you should hold a BE/ BTech degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering with a background of 5-10 years in Engineering/Project documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills will be beneficial for effectively carrying out the responsibilities associated with this position.,

Role & responsibilities • Systematic and scientific approach towards project targets. Conduct routine lab activities to identify and develop green routes to material synthesis. Perform polymer/material analysis, interpret results & document the information in reports/presentation. Engage in product scale-up in lab; ready to travel to manufacturing sites to enable technology transfer. Well-informed with newer developments in green coatings especially, industry trends and innovative technologies. Raw material procurement and maintain lab inventory. Maintain the inventory and remain 100% EHS compliant. Passionate, motivated individual with minimal supervision. Preferred candidate profile Qualifications : MSc Chemistry (Organic/ Physical/ Polymer/ Material Science) or MTech with related experience (Paper and pulp) Work Experience : • 0-5 years of synthetic experience in material synthesis (organic/inorganic/hybrids /polymerization). Process optimization, scale-up, and technology transfer is considered an advantage. Ability to read, identify through literature and design parameters, i.e., factorial design, DOE. Skills : • Understanding of polymer/organic/physical chemistry & related reactions. Experience in emulsion polymerization, encapsulation, surfactant chemistry, silicone chemistry and formulation development. Excellent communication and presentation Knowledge : Biopolymers/Polymer/Silicone/Surfactant Chemistry, Microemulsions, Formulations, Material Characterization and analysis; handling of chemicals

Key Responsibilities 1. Lead the synthesis and process optimization for Anisole and downstream products. 2. Design synthetic schemes with a focus on scalability, yield, cost, and environmental safety. 3. Deep understanding of reaction mechanisms and transformation strategies. 4. Hands-on experience with a wide range of reactions including oxidation, alkylation, halogenation, demethylation, and aromatic substitution. 5. Strong command of analytical techniques: NMR, HPLC, GC, MS, IR, UV-Vis. 6. Execute bench-scale experiments and develop SOPs and process documentation. 7. Identify reaction bottlenecks and provide troubleshooting solutions. 8. Supervise, train, and mentor junior chemists and research staff. 9. Coordinate cross-functionally with scale-up, production, EHS, and quality teams. 10. Continuously monitor recent literature and patents to drive innovation and ensure competitiveness. Ensure strict adherence to lab safety protocols and regulatory compliance. Skills Required 1. Tech transfer experience to manufacturing teams. 2. Exposure to continuous flow chemistry or green chemistry principles. 3. Strong documentation, project planning, and communication abilities. 4. Proficient in ELNs, MS Office, and scientific databases (SciFinder, Reaxys). Technical/Functional Proficiency Required Proven track record of successful scale-up from lab to pilot/plant. Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
