Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Library Management: Maintain the library’s physical and digital resources, including books, periodicals, e-books, and reference materials. Classify, catalogue, and organize resources using standard library systems. Ensure proper check-in/check-out procedures and inventory tracking. Support to Curriculum: Collaborate with teachers to support reading programs and integrate library resources into lesson plans. Curate and recommend age-appropriate books aligned with CBSE curriculum needs. Reading Culture Promotion: Organize reading activities, book fairs, author visits, and literary events to promote reading habits. Design creative library displays and reading challenges to engage students. Student and Staff Assistance: Guide students and staff in locating and using library materials effectively. Teach students basic research skills and information literacy. Administration and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of library usage, budget, and resource acquisitions. Submit periodic reports on library activities and requirements to school leadership. Technology Integration: Manage digital resources and library management software. Encourage the use of e-learning platforms and online research tools. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib). Prior experience in a school library preferred. Strong organizational and cataloguing skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of CBSE curriculum requirements is an advantage. Tech-savvy with ability to manage digital library tools. Personal Attributes: Passion for books and reading.
