Job Overview:

As an SAP Production Planning (PP) Module Functional Consultant, you will be responsible for the effective configuration, implementation, and support of the SAP PP module to enhance the production planning processes within our construction equipment manufacturing operations. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the SAP PP system aligns with business requirements, provides accurate and reliable data, and integrates seamlessly with other SAP modules. Your role will involve continuous improvement initiatives, user training, and support to maximize the systems efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

Collaborate with production managers, planners, and other stakeholders to gather detailed requirements for the SAP PP module.

Analyze existing production processes and identify areas for improvement and customization in SAP PP.

2. SAP PP Module Configuration:

Configure the SAP PP module to align with the company’s production processes, including setting up master data such as materials, BOMs, work centers, and routings.

Configure planning strategies, material requirements planning (MRP), and shop floor control processes within SAP PP.

3. Master Data Management:

Ensure the accuracy and integrity of master data within the SAP PP module by creating and maintaining material master records, BOMs, work center data, and routing information.

Manage and update production versions to reflect current and accurate data.

4. Production Planning and Scheduling:

Develop and optimize production plans and schedules using SAP PP functionalities such as MRP, capacity planning, and production orders.

Ensure that production plans meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and resource utilization.

5. Shop Floor Control:

Monitor and manage production activities on the shop floor using SAP PP functionalities, including releasing production orders and tracking production progress.

Address and resolve any issues or deviations during production to maintain smooth operations.

6. Integration with Other SAP Modules:

Ensure seamless integration of the SAP PP module with other SAP modules like Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Quality Management (QM).

Collaborate with consultants responsible for these modules to streamline business processes and data flow.

7. User Training and Support:

Provide comprehensive training and support to end-users on SAP PP functionalities and processes.

Conduct training sessions, prepare user documentation, and address any user inquiries or issues.

8. Continuous Improvement:

Continuously evaluate and improve production planning processes and SAP PP configurations by implementing best practices and staying updated with the latest SAP releases and industry trends.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhancements to optimize production planning and execution.

9. Project Management:

Manage SAP PP-related projects, including project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and progress tracking.

Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet defined objectives and requirements.

10. Documentation and Reporting:

Document SAP PP configurations, processes, and procedures, maintaining comprehensive records of system configurations and changes.

Generate and analyze reports related to production planning KPIs, performance metrics, and key trends to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

11. Support and Maintenance:

Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the SAP PP module, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly to ensure system reliability and performance.

Implement updates and patches as required to keep the system current and secure.
