Sap Basis Consultant

Role Summary

The SAP BASIS Consultant will be responsible for administration, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP landscapes used across textile manufacturing operations such as production planning, sales, procurement, and inventory management. The role ensures system stability, performance optimization, and smooth integration with industry-specific processes and add-ons.

Key Responsibilities

SAP System Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain SAP ECC/S4HANA systems and related components.
• Perform system refreshes, client copies, transport management, and environment monitoring.
• Manage SAP NetWeaver, SAP Fiori, Solution Manager, and integration with textile-specific modules like SAP PP, MM, SD, QM.
  

Performance & Monitoring

• Monitor system health, job scheduling, background processes, and spool management.
• Perform performance tuning for ABAP/Java stacks to support high-volume textile production cycles.
• Ensure optimal uptime to support continuous manufacturing operations.
  

Security & Compliance

• Manage user administration, role creation, and authorization management.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements, SOX, and data security policies relevant to textile export and retail operations.
  

Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide L2/L3 support for SAP BASIS issues across production and non-production systems
• Coordinate with functional teams for textile-specific processes (e.g., dyeing, weaving, finishing, order management) to resolve system-related issues.
• Handle SAP notes, patches, kernel upgrades, and OSS message management.
  

Backup, Recovery & DR

• Maintain backup strategies and system restores.
• Support DR drills and ensure system readiness for export-driven textile demands.
  

Integration & Add-ons

• Support integration with:
• Warehouse Automation Systems
• Barcode & RFID scanning solutions
• Production monitoring tools
• SAP PI/PO, CPI, and external textile machinery interfaces.
  

Technical Skills

• SAP ECC / S4HANA BASIS administration
• Linux/Windows OS administration
• HANA database administration and performance tuning
• Transport Management System (TMS)
• SAP Router, Web Dispatcher, SSO, SSL
• Experience with cloud hosting (AWS/Azure) is a plus
• Knowledge of FIORI and BTP services (added advantage)

Qualification

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
• SAP BASIS certifications preferred
