SAP Basis Administrator

As an experienced SAP Basis Consultant at BorgWarner, your role involves managing and maintaining complex SAP landscapes to ensure optimal performance, system security, and high availability. You will lead administration, integration, and automation efforts across SAP ecosystems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support business operations and transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain SAP landscapes across multiple environments and platforms, including cloud-based setups. - Perform installation, configuration, and performance tuning of SAP (ABAP & JAVA) applications and databases (HANA, Sybase, MaxDB). - Handle SAP Basis-related incidents and service requests, ensuring resolution within SLA timelines. - Drive automation of SAP Basis administrative tasks using tools like Ansible and custom scripting. - Integrate third-party applications (e.g., PLM, MES, CAD, EDI) with SAP systems. - Ensure system cyber resiliency and implement best practices for system hardening and compliance. - Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations. - Monitor SAP landscapes, including subsystems such as archiving, print services, and middleware. - Support S/4HANA conversion initiatives and related transformation projects. - Provide after-hours maintenance and emergency on-call support as required. - Contribute to system audits, capacity planning, and proactive system health monitoring. - Maintain system documentation and ensure adherence to change management processes. Preferred Candidate Profile: - 10+ years of hands-on SAP Basis experience in complex enterprise environments. - Strong expertise in administration and performance tuning of SAP application and database servers (HANA, Sybase, MaxDB). - Proven experience with SAP components including ERP, GTS, BW, SRM, PPM, SolMan, GRC, HR, and Portal. - Experience in managing SAP systems on cloud platforms. - Knowledge of S/4HANA conversion methodologies is a plus. - Skilled in automation tools (e.g., Ansible) and scripting for Basis task automation. - Strong knowledge of SAP security, resiliency standards, and industry best practices. - ITIL certification or solid understanding of ITIL framework is preferred. - SAP certifications in Basis or related components are highly desirable. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Self-motivated, structured, and capable of working independently and in a team. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
