Job Description

Sales Manager:

Key Responsibilities for a Sales Manager:

  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries via email and phone calls for both domestic and export markets.
  • Prepare and send quotations for local and export orders, ensuring accuracy of technical product details and pricing.
  • Clarify customer technical or application-related queries under the guidance of Top management.

Follow-Up Activities

  • Track all open enquiries, ensuring timely follow-up through email and phone calls.
  • Follow up with clients on the status of samples sent for testing and approval.

Vendor Questionnaire and Documentation

  • Complete vendor registration forms and questionnaires required by clients, sharing necessary product, quality, and compliance details under the guidance of Top management.
  • Coordinate with internal departments for supporting documentation (ISO, RSPO, etc.).
  • Maintain proper records and filing of all submitted forms, documentation, and approvals.

ISO 9001 Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain documentation required under ISO 9001 for sales and customer communication (inquiries, sample records, complaint handling, approvals).
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs related to customer communication, complaint resolution, sample handling, and sales order entry.
  • Support periodic audits by providing records and explanations as needed.

Market Research and Lead Generation

  • Identify existing users of our products and approach potential customers to convert them into active clients.
  • Proactively research new market segments or applications where the company's products provide value.
  • Based on the end use or application of our products, identify potential customers using alternative products that serve similar functions and approach them to promote our offerings.
  • Build lead lists of potential clients using online sources, trade platforms (Indiamart, Trade India), exhibitions, industry directories, and application market mapping.
  • Reach out to targeted prospects via cold email, call, or LinkedIn, introducing the product and convincing them to try it based on use-case fit.
  • Track and report all business development activities, lead conversions, and feedback.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good command over written English.
  • Decent command over spoken English.
  • Outgoing and confident in initiating conversations with new and existing customers.
  • Comfortable with frequent customer interaction over phone, email, and in person.
  • Proactive, energetic, motivated, persuasive communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and professional communication (email, call).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in follow-up and task closure.
  • Strong data handling and reporting skills.
  • Graduate in any field.
  • 2+ years' experience in customer service, sales

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Graduate in marketing and sales.
  • 5+ years' experience in customer service, sales in chemicals/pharma/cosmetic ingredients industry.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 documentation.
  • Research-oriented mindset, familiar with B2B sales prospecting tools (researching the market, LinkedIn, trade sites).
  • New account acquisitions and sales from new segments.
