About

We are seeking an experienced Sales cum Technical Manager to lead business development for our forged rolls business in PAN India. The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with deep technical knowledge of roll applications and rolling mill operations, driving customer success and business growth through technical expertise and relationship management.

Job Responsibilities

Sales

  • Drive sales of forged rolls across steel plants, re-rolling mills and OEMs.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Prepare and deliver technical-commercial proposals, quotations, and presentations.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing and delivery terms aligned with company goals.

Technical Support & Product Expertise

  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to clients, including roll selection, application guidance, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct failure analysis and lead joint investigations with customers.
  • Collaborate with BRC Product Managers / Technical teams to tailor roll specifications to customer requirements.
  • Lead and monitor product trials and performance evaluations at customer sites.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and decision-makers.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Gather feedback for continuous product improvement and innovation.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Monitor competitor activities, market trends and pricing strategies.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for regional growth and product positioning.

Team Collaboration & Reporting

  • Coordinate with logistics, operations and finance teams for seamless order execution.
  • Report sales forecasts, pipeline status and performance metrics / reports to senior management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, MBA or equivalent qualification in Business Management preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technical sales within forged rolls, bearing or heavy engineering in steel industry
  • Proven experience in B2B industrial sales, including contract negotiation, pricing strategy and building long-term partnerships.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of forged roll grades, cold rolling mill processes and application behavior.
  • Hands-on experience in failure analysis and technical troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of NDT methods for forged roll inspection and validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in technical and commercial presentations.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and commercial discussions.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office and technical documentation.
  • Male candidates highly preferred with language proficiency in English and Hindi
  • Familiarity with ISO/IMS standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) and quality/safety systems.
