Compliance and Policy
Develop, implement, and maintain the site Safety Policy, Objectives, and Safety Management System in line with MF Rules and relevant notifications.
Ensure compliance with Maharashtra Factories Rules, 1963, and the Factories Act, 1948, including latest amendments, and keep management informed of compliance status.
Risk Assessment and Management
Conduct periodic risk assessments (RA) for all processes and activities; prepare risk mitigation plans.
Implement Permit-to-Work systems (e.g., hot work, confined space, electrical work) as applicable.
Accident Prevention and Investigation
Promote a safety-first culture; investigate all accidents and near-misses; establish Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions.
Maintain accident and incident records and report as required under MF Rules.
Safety Training and Communication
Plan and deliver safety induction, toolbox talks, refresher trainings, and competency-based training for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Maintain safety signage, audible/visual alerts, and accessible safety information.
Health, Welfare, and Ergonomics
Oversee welfare facilities (sanitation, rest areas, drinking water, first aid) and ergonomics where applicable.
Manage occupational health programs, including medical checkups as mandated.
Fire, Chemical, and Home/Work Hazards
Implement fire safety plans, drills, and evacuation procedures; maintain fire equipment and hydrant system.
Manage hazardous chemicals: storage, labeling, MSDS, handling procedures, and spill response.
Emergency Preparedness and Response
Develop and execute emergency response plans (ERP), including drills with relevant authorities if required.
Plant and Machinery Safety
Ensure safe operation of machinery and equipment per MF Rules; oversee machine guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO) where applicable.
Contractor Safety and Site Access
Enforce safety requirements for contractors; review and monitor contractor safety programs; manage site access controls.
Documentation and Records
Maintain Safety Signages, records of risk assessments, training records, inspection reports, inspection checklists, internal audits, and legal compliance documents.
Audit and Continuous Improvement
Conduct internal safety audits, prepare management review inputs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
liaison with Authorities
Interface with factory inspector, labor department, and other regulatory bodies as required; coordinate inspections and compliance reporting.
Behavioral Safety and Culture
Promote safe work behaviors and establish safety committees (management, supervisory, and worker representatives) in line with regulatory guidelines.
Strong knowledge of MF Rules and Factory Act provisions, Audit and inspection skills; attention to detail., Ensure alignment with the Factories Act, 1948, and Maharashtra Factories Rules, 1963, including amendments and relevant notifications
