Job Description

  • Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Implementation
  • Enforces compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS).
  • Develops, implements, and maintains site-specific Safety and Health Programs.
  • Conducts regular safety inspections and audits at project sites.
  • Ensures workers use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Identifies workplace hazards and recommends corrective actions.
  • Training & Education
  • Conducts safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors.
  • Leads tool-box meetings, safety drills, and emergency response training.
  • Ensures employees are informed of safety protocols and policies.
  • Incident Management
  • Investigates workplace accidents, near-misses, and hazardous occurrences.
  • Prepares accident/incident reports and recommends preventive measures.
  • Coordinates with DOLE and other agencies during inspections or accident investigations.
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintains updated records of safety permits, accident logs, and safety reports.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly Safety and Health Reports for management and DOLE.
  • Ensures proper posting of safety signages and DOLE-mandated notices.
  • Coordination & Leadership
  • Acts as the point person for all safety-related matters at the project/site.
  • Coordinates with contractors, suppliers, and management to ensure safety compliance.
  • Leads the Emergency Response Team (ERT) in case of incidents.
  • Educational Background (Preferred but not always mandatory)
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or any related field.
  • Non-degree holders may still qualify if they meet DOLE training and experience requirements.

  • 40 hours of Advanced Occupational Safety and Health (AOSH) Training from a DOLE-accredited OSH training provider.
  • Must be designated and accredited as a Safety Officer III by the company.
  • Experience Requirement
  • At least 3 to 5 years of work experience in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
  • Must have practical experience in:
  • Safety inspections
  • Risk assessments
  • Incident investigations
  • Safety program implementation
  • DOLE compliance
  • Training & Certifications (Preferred / Advantageous)
Aside from the mandatory

40-hour AOSH Training

, additional certifications are highly desirable:
  • Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) (if previously an SO1/SO2)
  • Construction Safety and Health Training (COSH) (for construction projects)
  • First Aid & Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness Training
  • Incident Command System (ICS) Training (optional but useful)
