Safety Manager

Job Purpose:

This position is required to achieve the desired level of performance in the following Key Result areas:

• Assure that the company complies with applicable Health, Safety and Environmental laws, regulations and standards.
• Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices in the stores. Surveys to identify and evaluate occupational health, safety and environmental conditions. Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
• Compile, analyze, interpret and report accident, loss, and exposure statistical data; prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards. Reviews injury and property damage reports.
• Develop controls for identified hazards. Coordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analysis. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies and procedures. Recommend and implement changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries.
• Develop specialized education and training materials, conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information. Assists in new employee occupational health, safety and environmental orientation. Conducts Safety Programme meetings.
• Plans and implement environmental compliance programs and community programs.
• Incorporate essential occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements in all policies.
• Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position.

• Must have relevant training in the relevant areas and should be aware of the applicable laws pertaining to health and safety.
• Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands on health, safety and environmental training. Ability to develop,
• implement, and deliver comprehensive health and safety accident prevention programs.
