Safety Engineer

Job Title: Safety Engineer Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Location: [Insert Location] Reports To: HSE Manager / Safety Manager / Project Manager Job Purpose: The Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and promoting a safe working environment. The role involves identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing safety procedures across the organization to prevent accidents and injuries. Key Responsibilities: Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures. Review existing policies and procedures and update them according to legislation. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits. Investigate accidents/incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions. Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management. Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures and standards. Ensure all personnel adhere to the company’s safety policies and procedures. Liaise with regulatory bodies for compliance and inspections. Participate in emergency response planning and drills. Evaluate and recommend safety equipment and PPE. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or related field. Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH). Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in [industry]. Thorough knowledge of OHS legislation and regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and training abilities.
