Position: RTOS Engineer (Feature Phone Firmware)

Location: Onsite/Hybrid – Noida (2–3 days in office)

Overview

As an RTOS Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, customizing, and integrating the proprietary voice patch engine into Lava’s feature phone firmware. You will work closely with the Embedded C Engineer and Project Manager to ensure seamless integration with Unisoc/MediaTek chipsets.

Key Responsibilities

•Reverse-engineer existing firmware to identify integration points for the “Bol” voice patch.

•Customize and optimize RTOS components to support TTS/voice playback features.

•Integrate audio codecs (e.g., IMA ADPCM) and phoneme mapping within firmware constraints.

•Perform device-level validation for memory, latency, and power usage.

•Collaborate with Lava’s in-house firmware team for joint reviews and knowledge transfer.

•Document all RTOS changes, integration notes, and build instructions.

Required Skills & Experience

•Strong proficiency in RTOS (ThreadX, Nucleus, or similar lightweight kernels).

•Experience with Unisoc/MediaTek SC6531E/MT6261 or similar 2G/feature phone chipsets.

•Hands-on knowledge of embedded audio pipelines and low-footprint system design.

•Proficient in C/Assembly for embedded platforms.

•3–6 years of experience in firmware development for embedded/telecom devices.
