Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Stock Management:

Store goods properly in the backroom or on shelves.
Label products with barcodes or price tags.
Ensure proper stacking to avoid damage.

Replenishment:

Refill shelves as per sales trends.
Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) for perishable items.
Notify supervisors about fast-moving or slow-moving products.

Inventory Counting:

Conduct regular stock takes (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Use handheld scanners or manual counting methods.
Report discrepancies (stock loss, excess, mismatch).

Data Entry & Reporting:

Update inventory data in the system (POS or ERP).
Maintain accurate records of goods received, sold, returned, or damaged.
Generate stock reports for management.

Damage & Returns Handling:

Identify damaged/expired products.
Process returns to vendors or warehouse.
Maintain records for return/damage claims.

Coordination:

Work with floor staff, warehouse, and purchasing teams.
Communicate restocking needs or shortages.
