About the Role

Robotics Design Engineer (Mechanical)

end-to-end mechanical design and development of advanced automation subsystems


What You’ll Do

  • Design precision motion subsystems, including links, joints, grippers, and structural assemblies.
  • Develop detailed 3D and 2D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD.
  • Perform kinematic, static, and dynamic analyses including load, torque, and deflection calculations.
  • Select motors, gearboxes, bearings, and materials based on system and performance requirements.
  • Build and validate prototypes using CNC machining, 3D printing, or sheet-metal fabrication.
  • Conduct stiffness, backlash, endurance, and field testing.
  • Collaborate with electronics and control teams for actuator, sensor, and PCB integration.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturing, cost, and performance (DFM/DFA).
  • Maintain accurate BOMs, drawings, and design documentation for production.

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Strong foundation in kinematics, dynamics, and actuator sizing.
  • Understanding of servo and stepper motor integration, gear trains, and precision mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and design verification.

Bonus Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience with multi-axis motion systems such as 6-DOF or SCARA configurations.
  • Familiarity with FEA tools (ANSYS).
  • Knowledge of IP sealing, thermal management, and ROS-based integration.
