Job Description

The Research Scientist (J Level) specializing in Specialty Inorganic Chemicals in Vadodara will be responsible for leading research initiatives aimed at enhancing inorganic chemical synthesis and developing inorganic additives for polymers and glass applications. This role encompasses various activities such as laboratory experimentation, data analysis, technical reporting, support in process scale-up, and collaboration with diverse teams to translate research findings into practical applications. As a Research Scientist specializing in Specialty Inorganic Chemicals, your responsibilities will include planning, designing, and executing research programs in the field. You will be involved in conducting laboratory synthesis, optimizing processes, and conducting scale-up studies. Your role will also entail identifying innovative approaches for creating new inorganic materials and solutions. Additionally, you will be expected to offer technical assistance to plant operations, aid in troubleshooting plant issues, and produce high-quality Internal Technical Reports, patents, and research publications. Ensuring compliance with Standard Laboratory Practices (SLP) for record-keeping, reviewing and finalizing draft reports and project documentation, supervising data maintenance for experiment reproducibility, and maintaining traceability will be crucial aspects of your role. You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for collaboration, mentoring subordinates, ensuring adherence to HSE procedures, and conducting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and PSSR for inorganic chemical research. Prioritizing research projects, setting milestones, and tracking progress aligned with organizational objectives are additional key responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a strong research background in inorganic chemistry and the synthesis of new inorganic materials. A minimum of 13 years of post-Ph.D. experience in specialty inorganic chemical synthesis, new material development, and characterization is desired, along with hands-on experience in inorganic synthesis techniques, catalyst support materials, adsorbents, and inorganic additives. Key Skills & Competencies required for this role include expertise in inorganic chemical synthesis and new material development, knowledge of laboratory safety practices and HSE compliance, excellent planning, project management, and experimental design skills, as well as strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Conducting literature surveys, developing work methods and SOPs for research experiments, using simulation models, studying technology offers, and performing process engineering design activities are additional skills expected from the candidate. The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. in Biology/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering with a specialization in the relevant research area and possess a minimum of 2-3 years of research experience. Familiarity with applicable guidelines, codes, standards, and legislations relevant to the field of research is also necessary for this role.,
