Research Development Mechanical Engineer

At Native, we are designing zero-service, high-performance hardware for modern Indian homes and some of our most ambitious components are still under wraps.

We’re looking for a curious, systems-minded mechanical engineer who thrives on deep R&D, complex sub-assembly design, and figuring out how to make things work better fundamentally.

What you’ll work on

You’ll join our stealth R&D effort to design an advanced fluid-handling subsystem for a next-generation appliance. Think precision filters, smart flushing mechanisms, and high-reliability rotary or stack-based systems.

This is a hands-on, early-stage role where you’ll:

• Design and prototype precision mechanical sub-assemblies
• Build systems involving mesh filters, valves, nozzles, and flow paths
• Collaborate with vendors (local + global) to source and customise components
• Run teardown benchmarks on existing best-in-class global systems
• Perform mechanical validation (fit, tolerance, stress, reliability)

You won’t be optimising existing CAD. You’ll be defining the mechanism from scratch. That’s the extent of what we can share publicly.

Who you’ll be working with

This isn’t a solo engineering role. You’ll work with Industrial designers, Design Engineers, On-field manufacturing teams, and suppliers & vendors.

Who we’re looking for

• 3–7 years of mechanical R&D experience, ideally in appliances, consumer hardware, or automotive subsystems.
• Number of years of experience doesn’t matter if you clear our interview and have the right skills and capabilities.
• Hands-on with CAD, prototyping, mechanism design, and fluid system basics
• Exposure to rotary/actuated parts, valves, scrapers, or mesh-based systems.
• Bonus: Experience with fluid filtration, coffee machines, dishwashers, HVAC, or water appliances
