Professor Sumeet Kumar:

The Indian School of Business (ISB) aims to train promising young researchers in various disciplines of management (Accounting, Finance, Economics and Public Policy, Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Organizational Behaviour, and Strategy). Toward this end, we seek applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background for the position of Research Associate (RA). RAs work directly and closely with ISB’s faculty members on their research projects. Many RAs, after successful completion of their projects, have been admitted to graduate programs (Masters/Ph.D.) in top universities across the world.

This posting is for an RA position with Prof. Sumeet Kumar (Information Systems, ISB) in the broad area of using Artificial Intelligence for solving business and societal problems. Selected candidate will assist the faculty member on research projects using approaches from GenAI, data science and machine learning.

Roles & Responsibilities:

You will:

• Developing machine learning models to analyse unstructured data (language/video)
• Collecting and processing large scale language and video data
• Using platforms like M-Turk to label data
• Conducting literature review in a broad array of disciplines including computer science, information systems, economics
• Collaborating with various stakeholders such as schools

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications:

• Good understanding of Machine Learning
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
• Undergraduate / graduate degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Engineering, Social Sciences
• Superior academic performance, especially in analytical and quantitative courses
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated evidence of writing (reports, articles, dissertations) preferable
• Ability to incorporate intellectual inputs from multiple disciplines and to work independently
• Strong professional ethic including attention to detail, commitment to task completion under aggressive deadlines, and ability to multitask

Preferred experience and skills:

• Good understanding of Econometrics
• Relevant projects in machine learning and natural-language processing
• Advanced programming skills
• Understanding of econometric models
