Research Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking qualified and motivated Investigators to support data collection and field research activities under large-scale socio-economic surveys such as National Sample Survey (NSS), or similar studies. The role involves conducting household- and individual-level interviews, ensuring data accuracy, and using digital data collection tools like CAPI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct primary data collection through field surveys, household interviews, and community interactions.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency during collection and entry.
• Use CAPI or other digital tools for data recording and transmission.
• Verify and validate collected information as per prescribed guidelines.
• Coordinate with supervisors and field teams to meet survey timelines and targets.
• Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality of respondent information.
• Provide daily/weekly progress reports and resolve field-level challenges.
• Support data quality checks and participate in training sessions when required.

Qualifications and Eligibility:

• Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, or Computer Science (BCA, BCS, or equivalent)
OR
Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from a recognized university/institution.

• Desirable Experience:
• Prior experience in NSS, or similar socio-economic surveys.
• Familiarity with CAPI tools or digital data collection methods.
• Experience working in field data collection, research, or monitoring projects.
• Age Limit:
• Must be under 40 years of age.

Key Skills:

• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with fieldwork and data collection in rural and urban areas.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, mobile applications, online survey tools).
• Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
