Research Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, optimize, and validate Nanopore-specific protocols (e.g., PCR, library prep).
• Prepare high-quality samples and construct libraries for MinION/GridION.
• Operate and troubleshoot Nanopore flow cells, thermal cyclers, and auxiliary tools (e.g., VolTRAX).
• Analyze raw Nanopore data (squiggles, basecalling) and perform long-read bioinformatics.
• Collaborate on assay development and bioinformatics pipeline optimization.
• Develop scalable long-read workflows (e.g., adaptive sampling, multiplexing).

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with PCR, qPCR, and Nanopore sequencing (MinION/GridION).
• Expertise in Nanopore library prep (ligation/transposase workflows) and assay optimization.
• Strong analytical skills for long-read QC (pore occupancy, read length).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot Nanopore-specific issues (flow cell performance, adapter efficiency).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary

Pay: ₹25,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Hyderabad, Telangana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• NGS: 1 year (Preferred)
