Technical Perfumer

Key Responsibilities

Fragrance Development

• Develop and formulate

  perfumes, fragrance compounds, and custom blends

  for various applications (cosmetics, personal care, home care, aromatherapy, FMCG).
• Translate client briefs into technically sound and creative fragrance formulations.
  
• Modify and improve existing fragrances based on performance, cost, and stability requirements.
  

Technical Support & Evaluation

• Conduct

  olfactory evaluation, stability testing, and performance analysis

  of fragrances.
• Support production teams during scale-up and manufacturing trials.
  
• Troubleshoot formulation or processing issues during production.
  

Essential Oils & Aroma Chemicals

• Work with

  natural essential oils, isolates, absolutes, and synthetic aroma chemicals

  .
• Ensure consistency and quality of raw materials used in formulations.
  
• Optimize fragrance formulations for cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure formulations comply with

  IFRA standards, REACH regulations, and customer-specific requirements

  .
• Prepare and maintain

  MSDS, COA, allergen declarations, and technical dossiers

  .
• Assist in audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections.
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with

  R&D, Quality, Sales, and Production teams

  for successful project execution.
• Support sales teams with

  technical presentations, fragrance samples, and customer trials

  .
• Address customer feedback and make technical improvements as required.
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Diploma / Degree in Perfume Technology, Chemistry, or related field

Experience

• 4 to 10 years

  of hands-on experience as a Technical Perfumer
• Experience in

  essential oils and fragrance formulation

  is mandatory

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of

  fragrance ingredients (natural & synthetic)

• Expertise in

  perfume formulation, evaluation, and stability testing

• Familiarity with

  GC-MS

  and analytical tools (preferred)
• Knowledge of international fragrance compliance (IFRA, EU, FDA norms)
