Job Description

The Model/Analysis/Validation Analyst II role at Citigroup is a developing professional position that requires applying specialized knowledge to monitor, assess, analyze, and evaluate processes and data related to risk management. As an analyst in this role, you will be responsible for identifying process gaps, adhering to operating procedures, interpreting data to make recommendations, researching information, identifying inconsistencies in data or results, and performing root cause analysis when necessary. Your role will involve integrating established disciplinary knowledge within a specialty area with a basic understanding of related industry practices. Furthermore, you will develop a working knowledge of industry practices and standards, understanding how your team interacts with other stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the area. Your impact on the business will be primarily within your own team, with a focus on delivering high-quality tasks and services. Some of your key responsibilities will include developing, enhancing, and validating methods for measuring and analyzing risk across all risk types, leading projects related to the development and validation of models, providing analytical support for analysis and benchmarking activities, preparing reports according to the Risk Management Team's priorities, and participating in projects for the continuous improvement of risk analytics, modeling, and validation systems. To excel in this role, you should possess programming skills in languages such as SAS, SQL, and/or Python, with working knowledge of tools like VBA being preferable. A basic knowledge of secured/unsecured banking products and US banking regulations is required. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for effectively disseminating information to technical and non-technical audiences. Additionally, you should have proven analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis, identify trends, and anticipate emerging issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary, with Unix knowledge considered an added advantage. Having at least 1+ years of experience in model implementation/validation/development and a minimum of 2+ years of industry experience is preferred. As an analyst in this role, you will also be expected to assess risk appropriately when making business decisions and demonstrate consideration for the firm's reputation, while safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. Compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations is crucial, along with adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelors/University degree in a relevant field. The role falls under the Risk Management job family group, specifically in Risk Analytics, Modeling, and Validation. This is a full-time position at Citigroup.
