Job Description

Position: Regional Sales Manager – Rice Location: Assam (Candidates must be Assam-based or have strong market experience in Assam)

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Sales Manager – Rice to lead and expand our rice business across Assam and nearby North-East markets. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in FMCG or agri-commodity sales, specifically rice, and deep knowledge of Assam’s trade channels, distributors, wholesalers, and retail landscape. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and the ability to drive volume, revenue, and brand presence in the region.

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the regional sales team, developing distribution networks, executing sales strategies, and achieving growth targets. Candidates must be currently based in Assam or have extensive on-ground experience working in Assam markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve volume, value, and market share targets for rice products.
  • Appoint, manage, and motivate distributors, super stockists, and channel partners across Assam.
  • Lead, coach, and monitor the performance of Area Sales Managers, Sales Officers, and field sales teams.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and consumer demand to identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure effective execution of trade schemes, promotions, and product launches in the assigned region.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, MIS reports, and review performance regularly with senior management.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 6–8 years of sales experience in FMCG or agri-commodities, with at least 5 years in rice sales.
  • Mandatory experience working in Assam markets with strong understanding of local trade dynamics.
  • Proven experience in distributor management, channel expansion, and team leadership.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively within Assam and nearby North-East regions as required.
  • Proficiency in sales planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Sales/Marketing will be an added advantage.

Additional Information

  • Assam-based candidates will be strongly preferred.
  • Experience in branded or bulk rice categories is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
