Role & responsibilities

Role Overview:

Regional Sales Manager (RSM)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with national business objectives.
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of Area Managers, Sales Executives, and Channel Partners.
  • Drive distributor and retailer acquisition, development, and performance.
  • Monitor sales performance, market share, and growth metrics across all territories in the region.
  • Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and untapped geographies.
  • Conduct regular market visits and review meetings to assess field execution and team effectiveness.
  • Ensure smooth execution of trade promotions, mechanic meets, influencer programs, and branding activities.
  • Track competitor movements, pricing, and promotions and provide timely inputs to the marketing team.
  • Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and collection targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as supply chain, finance, and product management for operational efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    Graduate in any discipline (preferably BBA/BCom/Engineering); MBA/PGDM in Sales or Marketing preferred.
  • Experience:

    1015 years of experience in field sales, with at least 3–5 years in a regional leadership role in lubricants, automotive aftermarket, or FMCG sector.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and people management capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, sales analytics tools, and CRM/ERP platforms.
  • Willing to travel extensively across the region.
