Regional Commercial Lead (Pune)

Key Responsibilities;

Post Contract Administration:

• Interpretation of Contract:

  Serving as the primary point of reference for interpreting the contract's clauses for the project team. Handle regular Contractual correspondence (letters, emails etc) and respond on time.

• Variation/Change Order Management:

  Resolve all changes to the original scope of work (i.e. variations) amicably, including pricing, obtaining approvals, and issuing Variation Orders/Change Orders within the stipulated Time.

• Claims Management:

  Identifying, assessing, preparing, defending against, or negotiating claims for additional time and/or cost. Need to have good experience in Claim settlement with the Client as well as the Contractor.

• Resolution of Disputes:

  Acting as the first step in the dispute resolution ladder. Should have good experience in arbitration & litigation resolution.

• Contract Close-Out:

  Managing the final account settlement, processing the Final Bill, issuing the Taking-Over Certificate, and handling the Defects Liability Period (Maintenance Period) obligations

• Progress of project

  Ensure the project progresses run smoothly with the support of the overall administration contractual issues.

• Market Dynamics

  :- Required in-depth knowledge of the overall Contractors/sub-contractors Market, various strategies to hire Contractor/supplier/Sub-contractor, Material Price Volatility/cycle, Labour Market Conditions & Regulatory Environment.

• Audit

  Support internal and external audit requirements by maintaining transparent documentations.

Pre-Contract

• Tender Documentation

  : Assisting in preparing clear, unambiguous and contractually sound tender documents.

• Bid Evaluation

  : Analyzing and evaluating contractor bids not just on price, but also on technical qualifications, methodology, and compliance with tender conditions

• Contract Finalization

  : Participate with the Procurement Team in negotiating bidders and in finalizing the contract agreement before work begins.

Financials

• Payment Certification & Payments

  -Reviewing the Contractor's Interim Payment Certificates (RA/Running Account Bills) along with the Billing team, ensuring bill certification happens with accuracy and Timely certification. Also, ensure Timely payment to the Contractors

• Debit/Recoveries

  - Should ensure the timely recovery of advances, debits, and any other payments.

• AOP (Annual Operation Plan)

  - Support management in cash flow planning, cost forecasting, and AOP finalizations

Budget

• Interim/Final CTC -

  Prepare and finalize detailed Project Cost to Complete (CTC) based on design, specifications, and construction methodology in coordination with the Budget team as and when required.

• Budget Tracking

  - Establish cost monitoring systems and track project expenditure against approved budgets.

• Project Contingency & Discretionary Budget

  : Monitoring & Controlling the project Contingency as per guidelines of Management.

• Risk Assessment

  - Highlight potential risks or savings opportunities through analytical cost insights.

Additional

• Foster close coordination with Project Execution, Planning, Finance, and Design teams for seamless process flow & timely vendor payment.
• Analyze monthly commercial performance data to synthesize and deliver executive-level reports, highlighting key trends, risks, and strategic opportunities
• Optimise and enhance the process of vendor pool management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Contract managers and administrators.
• Mentor team members and build capability in cost planning and contract management
