We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join the Microsoft India subsidiary’s Corporate, External and Legal Affairs team (CELA) to provide general counselling legal services on commercial legal matters across a range of industries. This Attorney will work as part of a team supporting the Microsoft India subsidiary and will report to the Head of Legal Affairs, India. Supervision and engagement with outside counsel and across teams for compliance with laws; filing of statutory documents for our entities in India. Lead a complex deal compliance advisory practice across a portfolio of business segments, controls, and corporate functions. Brief executives and senior leadership on deal advisory outcomes, proactive consulting engagements, and compliance programs. Contribute to the advancement of a culture of diversity and inclusion at Microsoft. Representing Microsoft Proactively engages industry, business, or legal groups to drive Microsoft's policy objectives and external outreach initiatives (e.g., conferences, hearings, consultations, conducting workshops, volunteering for committees, leading recruiting activities). Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction. 12+ years’ experience as a practicing attorney OR Equivalent practice of law. Additional Or Preferred Qualifications In-house counsel experience(8+ years) preferably with multi-national companies or other large complex organizations, experience as an attorney with specialized practice in BFSI sector would be preferred Ability to perform in a highly matrixed organization and deal with ambiguity in a fast-changing technology innovation and digitally transforming world. A day in the life In this role you will work to define requirements, clarify scope, plan, track delivery and oversee strategic programs. You will be the primary point of contact to provide a holistic view of these cross-cutting programs for our partners teams and leadership by writing crisp and concise program reports. You will actively look out for risks and dependencies and take steps to mitigate them by escalating until it is resolved. You will collaborate with engineers, Software Development Managers (SDM), partner teams and stakeholders and ensure projects are delivered as per schedule with highest quality.
