Recreation Manager

A Recreation Manager plans, organizes, and oversees diverse recreational programs, events, and facilities, managing staff, budgets, and operations while ensuring safety and community engagement, involving tasks from event marketing and scheduling to facility maintenance, financial tracking, and fostering positive environments for users, often requiring a Bachelor's degree and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Program & Event Management

  : Develop, schedule, and direct activities, sports leagues, clinics, and large-scale community events.

• Staff Supervision

  : Hire, train, schedule, motivate, and evaluate part-time staff, volunteers, and student workers.

• Budget & Finance

  : Prepare and manage budgets, oversee revenue reports, and handle purchasing and inventory.

• Facility Oversight

  : Ensure facilities are safe, accessible, well-maintained, and comply with policies.

• Marketing & Promotion

  : Promote programs through social media, newsletters, print, and community outreach.

• Customer Service

  : Engage with participants, resolve complaints, and explain rules.
