Job Title: Receptionist
Department: Front Office / OPD
Reporting To: Administrator
Job Summary:
The Receptionist is responsible for managing all front desk operations, ensuring smooth and efficient patient registration, handling OPD processes, collecting payments, issuing receipts, and providing courteous and professional assistance to patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Registration:
Register new and follow-up patients accurately in the hospital system.
Verify and update patient details (personal information, contact, and referral sources).
Generate and provide registration numbers or ID cards.
2. OPD Management:
Schedule and manage OPD appointments for consultants.
Guide patients to the respective departments or doctors.
Coordinate with nursing and billing staff for smooth patient flow.
3. Payment Collection & Receipts:
Collect consultation, registration, and procedure fees.
Generate and issue receipts to patients.
Maintain accurate daily cash records and submit reports to the accounts department.
4. Front Office Operations:
Attend incoming calls and handle inquiries politely and efficiently.
Maintain a welcoming and organized reception area.
Assist in handling patient feedback and complaints professionally.
Coordinate with other departments for patient-related requirements.
5. Documentation & Record Maintenance:
Maintain daily patient logs and OPD registers.
Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of patient information.
Support administrative work as required by management.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification: Graduate (preferably in any stream).
Computer literate with knowledge of hospital management software.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Pleasant personality and patient-friendly attitude.
Work Experience:
1–2 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare front office (preferred).
Freshers with good communication skills may also be considered.
