Rebar Estimator and detailer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Rebar Estimator & Detailer to join our team. The role involves preparing accurate rebar estimates, generating detailed shop drawings, and coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of structural drawings, construction practices, and rebar detailing software.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating:

• Review structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for reinforcing steel preferably using aSa software.
• Develop material lists, bar bending schedules (BBS), and cutting lists.
• Provide estimates for bids, tenders, and ongoing projects.

Detailing:

• Produce precise rebar shop drawings, bar lists, and placing drawings using CAD/rebar software.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (ACI, ASTM, BS, IS codes, etc.) and client specifications.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to clarify design requirements.
• Identify constructability issues and propose practical solutions.

Coordination & Support:

• Communicate effectively with fabrication shops and site teams.
• Track changes, variations, and revisions in drawings and estimates.
• Maintain documentation and support project management in scheduling and cost control.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in rebar estimation and detailing (2–5+ years preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, RebarCAD, & ASA.
• Strong understanding of structural drawings and construction practices.
• Familiarity with relevant design and construction codes (ACI, ASTM, BS, IS).
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
