Job Description

As a purchasing specialist at Mouser Electronics, your primary responsibilities include: - Contacting suppliers to gather purchasing information such as cost and lead-time. - Communicating effectively with suppliers, Sales, Products, and other departments to ensure smooth completion of daily tasks. - Managing time efficiently to follow up on quotes promptly within the required time frame. - Utilizing strong analytical skills to assess the impact of decisions before implementation, being detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking. - Providing top-notch customer service and interacting effectively with internal and external contacts. - Formatting and completing BOM Quotes using advanced Excel features and Mouser's proprietary BOM tool. - Documenting all transactions accurately in the quote, both internally and with the supplier. - Supporting local/regional Customer Service teams and other regions/teams as needed. - Participating in the company's total quality process and representing the organization professionally. - Showing a willingness to learn and expand knowledge of the business and industry. - Developing effective quoting skills to independently produce quotes. - Understanding profit margins, markups, and competitive pricing. - Demonstrating strong analytical and part number identification skills. - Maintaining confidentiality and being trustworthy. - Having the potential for advancement to a higher-level Quote position. - Possessing working knowledge of purchasing, business marketing, or sales. - Proficiency in PC skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software. - Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills and etiquette, interacting effectively with individuals and groups.
