Key Responsibilities

• Incoming Material Inspection:

  Verify raw materials, castings, forgings, machined partsensuring vendors arent taking the “adjustable tolerance” route.

• In-Process Checks:

  Patrol the shop floor like a KPI-driven watchdog, ensuring machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly adhere to drawings and specs.

• Final Inspection:

  Approve finished products with measurement tools — micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, CMM data, the whole toolkit arsenal.

• Documentation:

  Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, deviation notes, and maintain traceability logs. Basically, paper trail = brand protection.

• Calibration Management:

  Ensure all measuring instruments are within calibration schedule — because accuracy is culture.

• Quality Standards Compliance:

  Align work with ISO 9001, ASME, API, IATF 16949, or industry-specific norms.

• Root Cause Analysis:

  Jump into RCA mode when defects pop up—using 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, the classic old-school methods.

• Cross-Functional Coordination

  : Sync with production, design, purchase, and vendor teams to close the loop on quality issues.

• Safety & Process Adherence

  : Follow SOPs religiously—we don’t cowboy around with safety.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings & GD&T (a.k.a. the holy scripture of component accuracy).
• Proficiency with measurement instruments.
• Understanding of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
• RCA & quality tools know-how.
• Attention to detail—borderline detective mode.
• Good communication to escalate issues like a pro, not like chaos.

Experience & Qualifications

• Diploma/BE in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 1–5 years experience typically, but varies across orgs.
• Exposure to fabrication, machining, or assembly shops is a big value-add.
