Quality Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

1). Quality Inspection & Control:

o Conduct in-process and final inspections of sheet metal parts.

o Use measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, welding gauges, etc.

o Check alignment, bend angles, welding quality, powder coating adherence, and assembly accuracy.

2). Quality Systems & Documentation

o Maintain inspection reports, NCRs, and CAPAs.

o Prepare and update quality checklists, SOPs, and work instructions.

o Support ISO 9001 compliance and audits.

3). Defect Analysis & Improvement:

o Analyze root causes of quality issues and suggest corrective/preventive actions.

o Work with production and design teams to resolve rejections and reduce rework.

4). Supplier Quality:

o Inspect incoming sheet metal components and outsourced processes (e.g., powder coating, laser cutting).

o Coordinate with vendors to resolve quality issues.

5). Customer & Internal Coordination:

o Support QA documentation required by clients.

o Assist in client audits and ensure adherence to specifications and delivery quality.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of

  sheet metal fabrication

  (cutting, bending, punching, welding, grinding, coating).
• Proficiency in

  quality tools

  : 5 Why, Pareto, Ishikawa (Fishbone), FMEA, etc.
• Familiarity with

  ISO 9001

  , 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Hands-on with

  measurement tools

  and gauges.
• Good analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Desired profile of the candidate

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production / Industrial Engineering.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication or retail fixture manufacturing.
• Experience in retail display or POP fixture manufacturing is a strong advantage.
