Quality Assurance & Quality Control

The Head of Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) will lead and oversee the organizations quality management functions across all projects. The role is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to contract specifications, IS codes, and ISO 9001:2015 standards while fostering a strong culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. The incumbent will ensure that all project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations through effective quality systems and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Planning and Documentation

• Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans aligned with contract requirements, IS codes, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  
• Ensure all quality documentation aligns with the corporate quality policy and QMS principles.
  
• Review, approve, and standardize quality formats, test reports, checklists, and registers across projects.
  
• Maintain centralized quality documentation and ensure version control.
  

2. Technical Support and Compliance

• Provide technical guidance to site QA/QC teams on testing procedures, material approvals, and inspection methods.
  
• Ensure compliance with MORTH, IRC, CPWD, and relevant IS standards.
  
• Conduct periodic site visits for audits, inspections, and resolution of quality issues.
  
• Liaise with Client/PMC representatives for approvals, inspections, and quality clarifications.
  

3. Laboratory and Vendor Management

• Ensure project laboratories are properly equipped, maintained, and calibrated.
  
• Coordinate with NABL-accredited or government-approved external laboratories for testing.
  
• Develop and maintain an approved vendor database for quality-related services and materials.
  

4. Quality Audits and Reporting

• Monitor implementation of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) across projects.
  
• Conduct internal quality audits and support client or third-party audits.
  
• Review monthly quality reports from project sites and consolidate findings for management review.
  
• Track and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) promptly.
  

5. Approvals and Dispute Resolution

• Manage approvals for mix designs, material sources, method statements, and quality samples.
  
• Address and resolve quality-related disputes and deviations in accordance with QAPs and IS codes.
  

6. Quality Improvement and Training

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on audit outcomes and project feedback.
  
• Conduct regular training and workshops for QA/QC engineers and site personnel.
  
• Promote awareness of quality standards, reducing rework and wastage through proactive planning.
  

7. Strategic and Leadership Focus

• Lead organization-wide quality culture and process optimization initiatives.
  
• Ensure alignment with the companys Integrated Management System (IMS).
  
• Contribute to strategic goals by delivering superior quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).

• Experience:

  15–20 years in QA/QC within the construction or infrastructure industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

• Knowledge:

  In-depth understanding of IS codes, IRC, MORTH, CPWD specifications, and ISO 9001:2015 QMS.

• Expertise:

  Proven record in quality audits, mix design approvals, material testing, laboratory setup, and vendor quality management.
