TAFE EPD (Engineering Plastics and Tool Room Division) is a subsidiary of TAFE, specializing in the design and manufacture of high-quality interior plastic components for leading automobile manufacturers. As a Tier-1 supplier, TAFE EPD serves major automotive brands such as TATA Motors, Skoda-Volkswagen, Hyundai, and KIA, among others. Role & responsibilities

The QMS Engineer is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements. This role ensures adherence to quality standards across processes and products in the automotive plastic component manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of QMS documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Support internal and external audits and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and OEM-specific requirements.
  • Maintain and update Control Plans, PFMEA, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Ensure proper handling of customer complaints, NCRs, and 8D reports.
  • Track and report quality KPIs (e.g., rejection rates, audit findings, customer PPM).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in supplier quality management and incoming inspection processes.
  • Support training and awareness programs related to QMS and quality standards.
  • Participate in management reviews and contribute to QMS improvement projects.
  • Ensure adherence to TAFE EPD Group Code of Ethics, Environmental Policy, and Quality Policy.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Automobile
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in QMS within automotive plastic component manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive quality tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, Control Plan).
  • Familiarity with problem-solving techniques (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why).
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
