Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated GIS Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing geospatial data, creating maps, and supporting various projects that leverage Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology. This role is crucial in helping our organization make data-driven decisions. Key Responsibilities: Data Management: Collect, organize, and maintain geospatial data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity. Mapping and Analysis: Utilize GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to create detailed maps and perform spatial analysis for various projects, including urban planning, environmental assessments, and infrastructure development. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and training to team members and clients on GIS tools and methodologies. Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate GIS solutions into ongoing projects and deliverables. Reporting: Generate and present reports on geospatial analysis results and project progress to internal teams and external clients. Research & Development: Stay updated on the latest GIS technologies and trends, and recommend improvements to enhance the organization's GIS capabilities. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in data handling and GIS analysis. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or a related field. Proven experience working with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial data analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and database management (e.g., SQL) is a plus. Knowledge of remote sensing and cartography is advantageous. Here's what you'll need Essential B.E in Civil Engineering and MS/M.Tech in Water Resources / Environmental Engineering from a recognized University1 to 6 yrs of hands-on experience in working with integrated 1D-2D flood modelling projects including storm drainage network.Experience on modelling tools such as Tuflow-Estry, Flood Modeller Pro, Infoworks ICM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.Experience on GIS tools such as Qgis, ArcGIS, MapInfo, etc.Sound technical knowledge and understanding of pluvial, fluvial, and coastal/tidal hydraulic modellingKnowledge on hydrology calculations / models and practices related to UK, ME and/or ANZCandidate must have a good command of English (written and spoken) as you will be required to speak and communicate with colleagues in the UK, ME and / or ANZ.Good report writing, well-developed interpersonal skills and working in team are seen as essential attributes. Desirable Experience with hydrology calculations / models and practices related to UK, ME and/or ANZ will be an added advantage.Working towards Chartership or recently Chartered will be advantage.Project / Team Lead role or management will be advantage.
