QC Chemist (Raw Material)

**Job Title:** Chemist – Raw Material

**Unit:** Sponge Iron Plant

**Job Purpose:**

To ensure quality analysis and testing of all incoming raw materials (iron ore, coal, dolomite, etc.) and monitor process samples to maintain required quality standards for sponge iron production.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Sampling and chemical analysis of raw materials such as iron ore, pellets, coal, dolomite, and limestone.

* Conduct proximate analysis, GCV, ash, volatile matter, fixed carbon, and other coal testing parameters.

* Perform Fe, SiO₂, Al₂O₃, P, S, and other chemical analysis of iron ore and related materials.

* Monitor and analyze process samples (DRI, char, kiln discharge, ESP dust, etc.).

* Prepare and maintain test reports, logbooks, and analysis records.

* Ensure compliance with BIS/IS standards and company quality norms.

* Coordinate with production and quality teams for corrective measures based on test results.

* Calibrate and maintain lab equipment (furnaces, balances, spectrometers, etc.).

* Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean laboratory environment.

* Assist in R\&D activities and process improvement for better yield and quality.

**Qualifications & Experience:**

* B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent.

* 2–5 years of experience in laboratory/quality function in sponge iron/steel industry.

* Knowledge of wet chemistry, titration methods, and handling of lab instruments.

* Familiarity with ISO/quality management systems will be an added advantage.

**Skills Required:**

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Proficiency in chemical testing methods and lab practices.

* Good communication and coordination skills.

* Ability to work in shifts and under pressure.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
