QA/QC Director

Position Overview:

The QC Director will lead the Quality Control Department and ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role demands a strong leader with extensive technical knowledge, experience in food manufacturing quality systems, and proven expertise in managing large teams and international compliance requirements.

Role & responsibilities:

• Oversee all QC operations for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods testing.
• Ensure strict adherence to USFDA, FSSAI, and other international food safety standards.
• Develop and implement robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 25+ QC professionals, ensuring skill development and performance excellence.
• Monitor product quality trends, identify root causes of deviations, and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate closely with Production, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to maintain consistent product quality.
• Prepare and manage quality audit schedules; handle internal, external, and customer audits.
• Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and compliance with global regulatory standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for process optimization and cost efficiency.
• Report quality performance metrics to senior management and recommend improvement plans.

Preferred candidate profile:

Education

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years in Food Quality Control, with at least 5 years in the same industry.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with USFDA compliance and audit handling.
• Proven track record of leading and managing QC teams (25+ members).
• Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, GHP, ISO 22000, and food safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and ensure cross-functional coordination.
