Job Description

Role Overview: As a Purchasing Coordinator for Agriculture & Animal Feed at Partap Institute of Engineering & Technology (PIET), your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth procurement of essential agricultural products and animal feed to support the institution's activities. Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Relations: - Identify, establish, and nurture strong relationships with suppliers of agricultural products and animal feed. - Conduct supplier assessments on quality, reliability, ethical practices, and adherence to standards. - Procurement Planning & Execution: - Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with academic and research requirements. - Research market trends, analyze pricing fluctuations, and identify cost-saving opportunities. - End-to-End Order Management: - Interpret product needs, generate purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain inventory records. - Ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve discrepancies efficiently. - Cross-Departmental Collaboration: - Liaise with faculty, researchers, and staff to understand specific needs for agricultural inputs and animal feed. - Ensure timely availability of resources for experiments, projects, and academic programs. - Quality Assurance & Compliance: - Monitor product quality, address defects or deviations, and ensure adherence to regulations. - Budget Management & Optimization: - Assist in budget preparation, analyze spending patterns, and implement cost-effective purchasing practices. - Accurate Documentation & Reporting: - Maintain procurement files, vendor agreements, purchase orders, and inventory logs. - Prepare reports on procurement activities for reviews and audits. - Research Support: - Source specialized agricultural inputs and unique animal feed ingredients for research projects. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, or Business Administration with a focus on Supply Chain Management preferred. - Experience: 2+ years in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in agriculture or animal feed sector. - Skills: Negotiation, communication, interpersonal, procurement software, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, analytical, problem-solving, organizational. - Knowledge: Understanding of agricultural practices, animal nutrition, industry standards, and regulations.,
