Job Title: Purchase Officer

Job Summary

The Purchase Officer is responsible for the procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, and other services essential for pharmaceutical manufacturing. The role ensures timely sourcing, cost optimization, and compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, supporting the companys operational and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials, APIs, excipients, packaging materials, and consumables as per production requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors in compliance with pharmaceutical quality standards.
• Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) based on approved requisitions.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers.
• Ensure all materials meet GMP, WHO, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
• Coordinate effectively with Quality Assurance, Production, Warehouse, and Accounts teams.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
• Track and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain vendor documentation, audit records, and regulatory compliance files.
• Resolve supplier-related issues, including delays, shortages, or quality discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reports for management review.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives and evaluate supplier performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Science, Commerce, or Supply Chain Management.
• Additional certification in Procurement or Materials Management is a plus.

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement, including Raw Materials, APIs, or Packaging Materials.
• Experience in a GMP-compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
