Job Description

Position Overview: The Purchase Executive is responsible for overseeing the procurement of technical and engineering materials, parts, and services essential for the manufacturing process. This role involves ensuring that purchases are made in a cost-effective, timely, and efficient manner while meeting the technical specifications and quality standards required by the company. Key Responsibilities: 1. Procurement Management: o Identify and source technical and engineering materials and parts required for manufacturing processes. o Evaluate and select suppliers based on technical capability, quality, cost, and delivery reliability. o Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers. 2. Technical Evaluation: o Assess technical specifications of materials and parts to ensure compliance with company standards and requirements. o Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to understand technical needs and requirements. o Conduct technical evaluations of supplier proposals and bids. 3. Supplier Management: o Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. o Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and quality standards. o Conduct regular audits and assessments of supplier facilities and processes. 4. Inventory Management: o Coordinate with inventory control to maintain optimal stock levels of technical materials and parts. o Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid production delays. o Manage and resolve any discrepancies related to procurement and inventory. 5. Cost Control: o Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies without compromising on quality and technical requirements. o Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost reduction opportunities. o Prepare and manage the procurement budget. 6. Documentation and Compliance: o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, supplier contracts, and technical evaluations. o Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. o Prepare reports and presentations on procurement activities and performance metrics. 7. Continuous Improvement: o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function. o Stay updated with the latest advancements in materials, technologies, and procurement practices. o Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to support overall business objectives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in technical procurement within the manufacturing industry. Skills: o Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing materials and processes. o Excellent negotiation and communication skills. o Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. o Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Certifications: Professional certifications in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) are a plus. Work Environment: This position typically operates in an office environment within a manufacturing facility. Occasional travel to supplier locations and manufacturing sites may be required.
