Job Summary

The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for managing the procurement of parts, developing suppliers, optimizing inventory, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support smooth production operations. The role requires strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, along with technical knowledge of components and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle suppliers for timely procurement of parts and materials.

• Manage minimum inventory levels to ensure smooth production without excess stock.
• Negotiate with existing suppliers for cost optimization and explore alternative sourcing options.
• Lead the onboarding process of new suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Manage the complete procure-to-pay cycle, including purchase requisitions, approvals, and payments.
• Ensure reconciliation of account ledgers with suppliers in coordination with the finance team.
• Create and release purchase orders based on material requirements.

• Prepare and send RFQs (Request for Quotation) and SORs (Schedule of Requirements) to suppliers.

• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with production, R&D, quality, and finance teams for alignment on material needs.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and data analysis.

• Good knowledge of PO (Purchase Orders), RFQ (Request for Quotation), Ledger Reconciliation, and PI (Proforma Invoice).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and process-driven approach.
