Purchase Coordinator

Job Description: As a Purchase Coordinator/Executive at Symbiosis University, Pune, you will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities to meet institutional requirements efficiently. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will contribute to the smooth functioning of the purchase department. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle, including indent processing, vendor sourcing, negotiation, and order placement. - Identify reliable vendors and suppliers for various goods and services required by the University such as IT equipment, laboratory items, books, stationery, furniture, and consumables. - Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures. - Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to achieve cost savings without compromising quality standards. - Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchase requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. - Conduct vendor evaluations periodically to maintain strong supplier relationships and compliance with statutory requirements. - Assist in budgeting, cost control, and procurement-related audit documentation. Qualification Required: - Strong knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills. - Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, or other procurement software. - Attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills. - Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple requirements, and knowledge of statutory compliances in an academic/university setting is preferred.
